ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Buddhika Madduma (CEO, ZOOMi ) is a veteran AI researcher, engineer, and entrepreneur. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Applied Computer Science. A serial entrepreneur, Buddhika has founded three companies in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He founded LayerNext after experiencing firsthand how painful it is to run a business without clean books and real-time financial insights. His hands-on experience operating businesses, combined with over a decade of AI research, helped shape LayerNext into a practical tool for business owners who want clarity without complexity.

ZOOMi Technologies is a Winnipeg-based AI company focused on building practical, production-ready AI systems for real business problems. Over the past two years, ZOOMi has worked closely with small and mid-sized businesses across multiple industries and consistently observed the same challenge: financial data is fragmented, manual, and always behind. Traditional bookkeeping and reporting rely heavily on human effort, which simply cannot keep up with the volume and pace of modern transactions.
