It’s time for us to build again.
Over the past five years, we have undertaken more than 200 engagements with members through 1-1 meetings, surveys, focus groups and events to better understand the challenges you’re facing and will face. Your ideas and insights have helped us identify our business community’s biggest challenges and ways we can help both today and tomorrow.
We heard three challenges:

Adapting to Change
Economic Uncertainty
To address this, we need a future of visionaries at the forefront.
Through Take the Lead, your investments will help us fund:
1. A New Gathering Place for Leaders Downtown
Our Vision: To increase business activity at Portage and Main by bringing more in-office programming, events, and member resources into the heart of downtown. Our new office reflects our longstanding commitment to Winnipeg’s business community as we work to reignite and rejuvenate our city’s core. With nearly 50 employees across five organizations under one roof, our new space will serve as a true downtown hub for growth, prosperity, and shared economic development.
2. Establishing the Leadership Institute
Our Vision: Leadership Winnipeg’s 20-year legacy has shown the power of developing leaders who reflect our city’s diverse career journeys, and now we’re ready to expand that impact. We’re set to build Leadership Winnipeg Institute, growing the program from 30 to over 100 students annually, equipping more emerging leaders to shape Winnipeg’s future. By strengthening alumni connections and collaborating with community partners, the Institute will offer dynamic new curriculum and create pathways into boards, committees, and leadership roles that advance the greater good of our city.
Fundraising Goal: $1M by December 31, 2026
