Meet Our 2025-2026 Volunteer Award Recipients

October 1, 2026

Written by Jalene Moman, Marketing and Communications Coordinator, The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce

Each year, The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce celebrates the people who help our community thrive – not just through their work, but through their time, energy, and heart.

Our 2025-2026 Volunteer Award Recipients embody what it means to lead our community by example, helping build a better Winnipeg for all. To get to know our recipients better, we sat down with each one to discuss what volunteering means to them.

Reanna Khan – Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient

For Reanna Khan, volunteering is about living her family’s values.

From childhood, giving back has been a regular part of Reanna’s life. She was raised in a family that believed, “If you’ve got the time, you do it. Or you sacrifice the time to make your community better.” And she continues to carry those values into adulthood.

As a creative and co-owner of Vibes Energy Inc., Reanna was introduced to The Chamber at the start of her entrepreneurial journey. She accepted our invitation to join the Small Business Advisory Council in 2024.

This past year, as co-chair of the council, Reanna learned about the barriers facing Winnipeg businesses and loved being part of the solution, enthusiastically advocating for change. Beyond co-chairing, she also hosts our Manitoba AI Pathways workshops, conquering her fear of public speaking.

Thank you and congratulations to our Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient, Reanna Khan.

“I’m truly grateful to receive the Volunteer of the Year Award. To be recognized for something I’ve had the privilege of doing alongside so many passionate and dedicated people warms my heart.

Serving as co-chair of the Small Business Advisory Council has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Small businesses are the heart of our community, and I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside entrepreneurs, business leaders, and volunteers who are committed to making Winnipeg a stronger place to build and grow a business.

What I’ve valued most about this role is the opportunity to listen, learn, and advocate for the small business community. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand the challenges that come with building a business, but I also know the incredible impact that can happen when business owners have access to community, resources, mentorship, and people who believe in their success.

I want to thank the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce for creating opportunities for volunteers and business leaders to contribute, collaborate, and help shape the future of our city.” – Reanna Khan

Christopher Quehe – Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient

For Christopher Quehe, volunteering is about turning his interests into meaningful change.

Christopher is a business development and security professional, currently working as the Director of Business Development at Commissionaires Manitoba. He brings this expertise to The Chamber’s newly formed Advocacy Leadership Council, along with his interest in government policy.

A self-proclaimed “policy nerd,” Christopher found the Advocacy Leadership Council the perfect environment to volunteer his time, offering input on pressing business issues and helping shape the Chamber’s policies and advocacy priorities. He has contributed significantly to our positions on CUSMA, Community Safety, and the 2026 Civic Election Platform.

Thank you and congratulations to our Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient, Christopher Quehe.

“I am deeply honoured to be recognized as Volunteer of the Year. The Winnipeg Chamber’s Advocacy Leadership Council has given me the opportunity to contribute to conversations that matter to our business community and our broader community, and I am grateful to be part of a group of thoughtful and engaged people who care about making our community a better place to live, work and do business. Thank you to the Chamber for this recognition, and to the many volunteers, members and community leaders who generously give their time, ideas and energy to help move our community forward. It is a privilege to be involved.” – Christopher Quehe

Michelle Cameron – Director of the Year Award Recipient

For Michelle Cameron, volunteering is about ensuring Indigenous voices are heard.

A proud Indigenous woman and business owner, Michelle strives to ensure Indigenous business needs are always part of the broader business conversation and community, not just sitting outside of it. And for her, this is especially important at a board level.

As the founder of three businesses – Dreamcatcher Promotions, Indigenous Nations Apparel Company, and Dreamcatcher Executive Offices – Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge to The Chamber’s Board of Directors. She began her board member term in 2023 and shares, “this was the one board I’ve always wanted to be on.”

She believes a strong board is made up of a variety of perspectives, experiences, and leadership styles, and values that The Chamber board accomplishes just that.

Thank you and congratulations to our Director of the Year Award Recipient, Michelle Cameron.

“I’m truly honoured to be named Director of the Year by the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. This recognition means so much to me because serving has never been about a title—it’s about showing up, using my voice and giving back to a community that has given so much to me. As an Indigenous woman and entrepreneur, I’m grateful to have a seat at tables I once never imagined I would be part of, and I hope my presence helps open doors for others coming behind me. Thank you to the Winnipeg Chamber for this recognition and for the opportunity to serve.” – Michelle Cameron

Craig Schatkowsky – Philip M. Sheps Award (Formerly the Distinguished Long-Term Service Award)

For Craig Schatkowsky, volunteering is about using his professional skills to make a real difference.

After Craig 34 years as a Certified Public Accountant at MNP, Craig recently retired from an organization that has always encouraged him to give back, making volunteering a constant throughout his career.

Craig entered The Chamber community more than 10 years ago, when we needed someone to take ownership of a role on our Finance Committee. His accounting background made the decision easy, and he gave it his full effort. Reflecting on his time on the committee, Craig shares, “the years go by fast because of how prepared and organized the committee is. It really made my job easy.”

Now, as Craig begins retirement, he looks forward to taking a general break from his commitments to focus on travelling and enjoying time with his wife and four daughters. But it’s only a matter of time, Craig says, until he returns to his work in the community, using his professional experience to help others.

Thank you and congratulations to our Philip M. Sheps Award (Formerly the Distinguished Long-Term Service Award) recipient, Craig Schatkowsky.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the Chamber.  The experience over the years was great as the whole Management team is so well prepared and organized making my job as a Committee member easy and the years fly by.” – Craig Schatkowsky
