Michael Legary, Chief Innovation Officer, City of Winnipeg
Michael Legary is the City of Winnipeg's first Chief Innovation Officer, responsible for governance & business innovation at the City of Winnipeg. He works closely with the Province of Manitoba as a member of the Premier’s Enterprise Team and often acts as liaison between the City and the Province for projects involving both governments.
Over the past twenty years, he has founded, led and sold several information technology, security and defense research companies. Michael Legary is a past winner of an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and a recipient of the CBC Future40 award.
Since 2011, he has acted as the Chairman of Innovation Alley, including the creation of organizations such as North Forge Technology Exchange, a non-profit focused on removing barriers to innovation and entrepreneurial startups across Canada.
Today, Michael is proud to be serving the community as an ambassador, leading several new initiatives under the Innovation Alley banner and as a civil servant, focused on creating an innovation culture to enable provincial and municipal growth for the next century.

Rafiq Punjani, Managing Director, Anago of Manitoba
A Chartered Certified Accountant by qualification, Rafiq has more than 20 years of extensive experience in corporate finance, accounting, voluntary services and entrepreneurship.
After working with Fortune 500 companies Ernst & Young and AECOM, Rafiq launched his first family business in 2014; AccuRoot Financial Solutions.
Rafiq and his family then started their second business, Anago Cleaning Systems of Manitoba, which now has more than 25 Franchises in Winnipeg.
In 2018, Rafiq and his family brought Right At Home Canada, a world leading company in Home Health Care industry, to Winnipeg as their third family business.
Rafiq was named 'Volunteer of the Year' 2016-2017 by The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, and in 2018, Anago of Manitoba was named 'Franchisee of the Year' by the International Franchise Association.
A successful entrepreneur, community worker, volunteer and a family man, Rafiq believes in hope, honesty and hard work.
