Manitoba’s AI Transition — Preparing Businesses for What’s Next
Our Small Business Forum welcomes Dan Blair from Research Partnerships & Innovation (RPI) at RRC Polytech for a practical discussion on what artificial intelligence means for Manitoba businesses today.
As AI tools become more common in the workplace, many organizations are asking where to start and how to use them in a way that makes sense. This forum focuses on generative AI through a skilling-up lens, exploring how businesses can build internal knowledge, support staff development, and begin using AI more intentionally in everyday operations.
Minister Mike Moroz, Minister of Innovation and New Technology, will be in attendance and will share remarks on Manitoba AI Pathways and its role in supporting business adoption of AI across the province.
Designed as an accessible entry point, this session will help you better understand how generative AI differs from other forms of AI, where it may fit within your organization, and what realistic next steps could look like.
This event is part of Manitoba AI Pathways, led by the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce in partnership with The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and the wider Chamber network.

Daniel Blair is an educator, researcher, and technologist specializing in immersive technology and artificial intelligence. As the founder and Chief Technology Officer of BSD XR, Daniel leads applied research initiatives that bridge cutting-edge AI and spatial computing with real-world industry challenges across sectors such as construction, aerospace, mining, defence, and utilities. Daniel is also an instructor in the ACE Project Space at Red River College Polytechnic, where he mentors emerging talent and collaborates on research-driven projects with industry and academic partners. His work emphasizes ethical deployment of emerging technologies, with a focus on workforce development and innovation strategy. A recognized leader in Canada’s digital innovation ecosystem, Daniel currently serves as chair of the board for New Media Manitoba, where he supports the growth of Manitoba’s interactive digital media sector. He has been recognized nationally as an award-winning entrepreneur and software developer for his commitment to advancing technology with purpose.
