ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Gil Garcia is a Senior Business Officer with Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) and serves as Canada’s Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) representative for Manitoba. In this role, he works with industry, government, and ecosystem partners to raise awareness of defence procurement opportunities and support Prairie-based companies seeking to participate in Canada’s defence and aerospace supply chains.
Tyler Claeys is a Senior Economist with Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) and an Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) representative for Manitoba. He provides research, analysis, and strategic advice to support economic development and works with industry stakeholders to strengthen Manitoba’s participation in Canada’s defence sector. Tyler specializes in sector research, data interpretation, and business intelligence, helping organizations identify defence related opportunities and supporting initiatives that advance innovation and regional competitiveness. Tyler’s background includes experience in local economic development through his role with the West End BIZ and logistics management through his work on the 2017 Canada Games and Manitoba Marathon. In the summer, he can be found camping or on the golf course; in the winter, he spends his time indoors.
