Every year The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce holds up and honours local companies who embody the Spirit of Winnipeg. The Spirit of Winnipeg Awards gives award finalists and recipients a community spotlight, invaluable networking opportunities and well-earned praise for their contributions to our city.
17TH ANNUAL SPIRIT OF WINNIPEG AWARDS

Award Categories
1. Technology and Innovation
Recognizing businesses that are driving economic growth through innovation, cutting-edge technology, or expansion into new markets. This award celebrates companies that embrace change, push boundaries, and contribute to Winnipeg’s innovative and evolving business landscape.
2. Environment and Sustainability
Honouring organizations leading the way in sustainability, renewable energy, or environmental stewardship. This award recognizes those who are making a meaningful impact by reducing their environmental footprint, adopting green technologies, or promoting energy efficiency.
3. Workplace Culture and CODE
Celebrating businesses that foster exceptional workplace cultures through diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being. This award highlights organizations committed to building positive spaces for employees and creating equitable workplaces that align with The Chamber’s CODE (Commitment to Opportunity, Diversity, and Equity) initiative.
4. Non-Profit and Social Enterprise
Recognizing non-profits and social enterprises that are making a difference in our community. This award honours organizations that demonstrate strong leadership, social impact, and innovative approaches to addressing social challenges.
5. Spirit of Winnipeg*
This award recognizes an outstanding effort and commitment to making Winnipeg a better, more prosperous community through corporate leadership and social responsibility.

Your company or organization is free to apply to any category (*except for the Spirit of Winnipeg Award, which is nominated and selected by The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors) that best fits your ideas or actions.
You are not limited to your traditionally defined sector. There will be three finalists in each category (*except for the Spirit of Winnipeg Award) as determined by a panel of judges based on the information you provide in your application.
All finalists will be recognized at the Spirit of Winnipeg Awards reception on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, and the recipient of each category will be announced and honoured.
A few rules before we get started:
- No supporting documents (brochures, binders, reports) will be considered
- Adhere to the maximum word length for your answers to each question.
- Previous finalists in a category of the Spirit of Winnipeg Awards are eligible to apply
- Previous Spirit of Winnipeg Award recipients are eligible to reapply after three years
- You can apply for more than one category, but only one category per application
