Labour shortage in the workplace is the number one issue affecting businesses today, according to the Manitoba Business Leaders Index. We have an untapped pool of workers right here in our own province. Consider the following:
  • More than half (52%) of the Aboriginal population of Manitoba consists of children and youth 24 yrs and younger
  • In 2006, Winnipeg was home to 25,900 First Nations people, representing almost 4% of the total population, giving Winnipeg the largest First Nation population of any census metropolitan area in Canada
  • in 2006, Aboriginal people accounted for 15.5% of the total population of Manitoba
