- More than half (52%) of the Aboriginal population of Manitoba consists of children and youth 24 yrs and younger
- In 2006, Winnipeg was home to 25,900 First Nations people, representing almost 4% of the total population, giving Winnipeg the largest First Nation population of any census metropolitan area in Canada
- in 2006, Aboriginal people accounted for 15.5% of the total population of Manitoba
