The Chamber is governed by members of a highly dedicated volunteer Board of Directors. Our directors are from companies of various sizes and sectors and reflect the diversity of our membership. We are also proud to have a gender-balanced board.
Each director brings with him/her a wealth of knowledge and experience and is committed to community leadership and supporting The Chamber’s mission. The board meets regularly to approve policy, engage in discussion around issues affecting the business community and to make decisions around the general governance of The Chamber.
Board Chair, 2016-2017
Wadood Ibrahim is a co-founder of Protegra – a community of software-driven businesses that help organizations and individuals solve problems with innovative solutions. Based in Winnipeg since 1998 with a team of nearly 50, Protegra has built an excellent reputation for innovating and delivering software-enabled solutions to the public and private sector.
Johanna Hurme is an architect and a founding partner of Winnipeg-based 5468796 Architecture. In the past nine years the firm has achieved national and international recognition and its work has appeared in over 150 books and publications.
Past Chair, 2015-2016
Priti Mehta-Shah (CPA, CA, CBV, CF) serves as a Managing Partner at 49-97 Capital Partners and is a co-founder at the firm. Previously, she was a partner at BDO Canada, LLP and in charge of Corporate Finance for Western Canada. She has over 25 years of experience in merger and acquisitions, divestitures, including valuations, deal structuring, negotiations and due diligence.
