LEADERSHIP WINNIPEG
CLASS OF 2009-2010 GRADUATES
Participants to share what they learned through community consultation process
June 8, 2010 – This Thursday, June 10, 20 participants in Leadership Winnipeg, a program founded by Volunteer Manitoba Inc. and The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, will complete a year-long journey of self and community discovery, aimed at giving them the tools, knowledge and connections to enhance their leadership skills.
As part of their class work, participants were involved in community consultations with five of Winnipeg’s cultural communities (Aboriginal, African, Filipino, Francophone and Indo-Canadian), exploring the strengths, opportunities and challenges faced by those communities and how they can contribute to the vibrancy of our city.
“The experience has opened their eyes and brought new insights for the class into the complex issues facing our community,” said Doneta Brotchie, Leadership Winnipeg program director.
At Thursday’s graduation ceremony, which gets under way at 4 p.m. at Prairie Theatre Exchange, the Class of 2009-2010 will report back on their findings and be presented their graduation certificates.
Congratulations to the graduates: Brian Adamyk, Audrey Book, Erik Butenschon, Julie DesLauriers, Dan Furlan, Colleen Galbraith, Rajiv Gupta, Louella Harms, Brent Jones, Melissa Kovacs Toews, Marianne Krawchuk, Joe Kutryk, Dianne Little, Ian McCallister, Noreen Mian, Linda Penner, Amber Reid, Nicole Rudge, Bonnie Siemens and Tony Wattman.
