HEAD OF NATIONAL MICROBIOLOGY LAB TO ADDRESS CHAMBER AT NEXT LUNCHEON
April 9, 2010 – The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Dr. Frank Plummer, scientific director general of the National Microbiology Laboratory and chief science advisor of the Public Health Agency of Canada, will deliver the keynote address at the next Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Membership Luncheon on Thursday, April 22.
Dr. Plummer is world renowned for his work in internal medicine and infectious diseases and has dealt first hand with high profile diseases such as AIDS and Ebola fever. In his address, Dr. Plummer will talk about the research taking place right here in Winnipeg and the success we have had in attracting world-class researchers and the impact they're having on the world's health.
In addition, the Manitoba recipients of the Manning Awards, which have recognized and encouraged innovation in Canada since 1982, will be announced at this luncheon.
