Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney to Address Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce
Carney to Comment on State of Canada’s Economy and Monetary Policy
Feb. 1, 2010 – Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dave Angus is pleased to announce that The Chamber will be hosting a special membership luncheon with Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney this Thursday, Feb. 4, sponsored by Deloitte and Canad Inns.
“For our members, the state of the economy is always a top priority, so having the Governor of the Bank of Canada address the local business community will be an extremely insightful event for The Chamber,” said Angus, who noted that more that 550 people are already registered to attend this event.
Mr. Carney who was appointed Governor of the Bank of Canada, effective Feb. 1, 2008, will comment on the Canadian economy and the conduct of monetary policy in his address entitled “The Coming Thaw.”
